Bec Irvine Work Examples
Retro Print
Of the commercial prints I’ve designed, Retro Print was the one that felt closest to my personal style. The collection was released through Active Truth, where I was working as an in-house designer.
100 Patterns By Bec
.The patterns here are part of my 100 Patterns by Bec series, which I created while participating in The 100 Day Project. I wanted to challenge myself and explore what I might create if I committed to drawing every day. Through the process, a style began to emerge that feels very natural to me and reflects the creative direction I’d like to explore moving forward.
Palm Bay Breeze
Although this pattern is quite old, it marks a pivotal point in my surface pattern design career. It was the first pattern I licensed, and shortly afterwards, I took on an in-house design role at an activewear brand. At the time, it felt like the safer option. Fast forward to today, and I feel it’s finally time to back myself and pursue a career as an artist. This mindset has been years in the making, and I now feel emotionally ready to take that leap and build a business around my creative work. This masterclass has come at the perfect time for me and feels like an important next step in this journey.
